Website revamp
Our new site is currently under construction. The site is being designed by Kimia, one of the country's leading graphic design companies and if their reputation is anything to go by, the result should be quite special.

It can happen to anyone, anytime, anywhere
Richard van Zyl of Ferndale was just a child when he suffered severe burns to his body after a game he was playing with his cousin went terribly wrong. The two had filled a can with some rags soaked in metholated spirits and pretended to be Olympic torchbearers. All it took was just one match to change Richards life forever. Horrendous burns meant months in hospital having to endure painful surgery, occupational therapy and years of post burn care.

Runaway blazes in Western Cape result in fire ban.

Another runaway fire caused by human negligence has forced authorities to place a ban on all fires for the next 3 months.

The fire is burning in the Slanghoek Mountains about 20kms north of Worchester and is in the process of posing a threat to a nature reserve in the area.

A helicopter and over 50 fire-fighters have been dispatched to the area, but it is reported that high winds and temperatures are hampering their efforts to quell the blaze.

It is hoped that the fire would burn itself out in the Kransehoek Pass by the end of Wednesday. No property or lives are in immediate danger.

About 400 hectares of bush has been destroyed in the Western Cape in the past month and cost millions of Rands to fight the blazes.
